This step-by-step cystic acne treatment guide details traditional and natural remedies that can be performed at home and will reduce and restrict the formation of acne cysts by dealing with their root cause.

Cystic acne is an extreme form of acne, in which blemishes develop into cysts. A cystic acne treatment can include nutritional supplements, improved diet, natural remedies and traditional medicines. Following the steps in this guide, which utilize a combination of treatments for cystic acne, will reduce and restrict the development of acne cysts.

Cleansing and Moisturizing

Many people don’t understand the proper way to care for skin prone to acne outbreaks. They aggressively attack the skin with harsh, abrasive cleansers, creams and lotions. As a part of this cystic acne treatment, you should only wash your face twice per day, once upon waking and once before retiring.

Use a gently cleanser to wash the entire face. Rinse thoroughly and apply a light moisturizer. Contrary to popular belief, moisturizer does not make the skin greasy or contribute to oiliness. Instead, it helps the skin retain its natural moisture. These two steps are all you need to keep your face clean and hydrated.

Nutritional Supplements

The most important cystic acne treatment may be the addition of essential vitamins and minerals to the diet. Vitamins A and E are necessary for healthy skin. Their powerful antioxidant properties combat free radicals which directly attack our cells and devitalize the skin. Vitamin B5 is also known for its proven efficacy to heal acne.

Perhaps the best thing you can do for cystic acne, however, is to take a high-quality multi-vitamin and mineral supplement. This will ensure that your body has all of the nutrients it needs to heal the skin and fight the bacteria that cause acne.

Improved Diet

Cystic acne is rare in developing countries, but plagues Americans. Many researchers believe it’s due to our highly processed and unnatural diets. A diet high in processed foods causes large, irregular spikes in insulin levels and raised hormone levels. These are two major contributors to acne outbreaks.

A practical and extremely effective cystic acne treatment is to cut out saturated fats, refined sugars, and highly processed foods, replacing them with fresh vegetables, fruits, lean meats and whole grains. Not only will this improve the skin, but benefit overall health, as well.

Topical Zinc Oxide Cream

Minerals such as zinc also make an effective cystic acne treatment. In a study published by Dermatologic Surgery, topical acne creams or ointments containing zinc oxide caused a reduction of sebum production and lesions. No ill side effects of this treatment have been reported besides very rare cases of irritation. If you are concerned, talk to your dermatologist about using a topical zinc oxide cream or ointment.

Natural Remedies

There are many natural remedies for cystic acne that should not be quickly discounted. Combining them with diet, supplements and a topical cream can produce remarkable results in the battle for clear skin.

Tea tree oil is one of nature’s most powerful anti-bacterial substances. Its antimicrobial properties kill bacteria responsible for causing acne breakouts and cysts. It has been used for years as a treatment for all manner of skin infections and can also benefit sufferers of cystic acne.

Aloe vera is another natural cystic acne treatment that is frequently used to reduce eruptions, redness, and irritation. It can be applied to the cysts directly for immediate relief. However, when used on a daily basis, it will clear and heal the skin.

Conclusion

There are many other natural remedies for cystic acne, but these are the most effective. A regimen including proper hygiene, nutritional supplements, improved diet, a topical zinc oxide cream, tea tree oil and aloe vera will quickly improve skin problems. This cystic acne treatment depends on you, so stick to it and you WILL see results.

Before you considering taking acne remedies, medication and other treatments remember that everyone has different skin so what is good for some people won’t be good for you. You can be allergic to some chemical and even make it worse. http://cystic-acne.awardspace.us/
