Leathercraft covers everything from sewing your own leather drawstring bag to creating beautiful and intricate patterns by tooling leather. Here's some great resources you can use to find new leathercraft projects -- FREE!

Leatherworking is still a popular hobby for many, and there are some great resources available on the web for finding free patterns. Whether you are a beginner of this hobby, or a seasoned leathercrafter, there's patterns available for a variety of projects including checkbook covers, belt buckles, coin purses and gun holsters.

Tandy Leather Factory has been one of the premier leatherworking supply stores since 1919. Check out their Free Pattern section that includes patterns for a leather coin purse, an intricate floral billfold, a football belt buckle and even a leather Christmas card.

At SBearsTradingPost.com you can download a nice concho style belt pattern, and a basketweave leather pattern that is great for belts, handbag straps, or even a hat band. Check out also the leather pancake knife case for holding folding blade knives.

Stop by NativeEssence.com for Native American pouches and leather bags. There's a pattern for an Apache handbag, Sioux pouch used for tobacco and other small items, and a Plains medicine pouch. You can also print out beading design patterns that can be added to these bags.

And finally, there's Eight Bits. An entire page of links to leather projects from the days of gunslingers and outlaws. Here you can find instructions for making a rifle scabbard, Doc Holliday's shoulder holster, a lace-on shooting cuff and more.
