Why should we hire you? This is a staple during every interview, so plan on hearing it. You can greatly increase your odds of landing a new job by preparing for questions that will likely be asked. You never know, you just may begin the career of your dreams.

1.  When the interviewer asks why they should hire you, it's important to be prepared. It's a good idea to jot down a basic outline of the points you want to cover prior to the interview. Don't memorize it, but make sure you know exactly what to cover.

2.  Why should they hire you? Think hard about this one. "I'm honest, trustworthy and a hard worker." Yes, these are all great traits that employers look for, but they've heard these reasons a thousand times. Come up with an answer that will make you stand out. "I'm willing to do whatever I need to do to succeed." Doesn't this sound better than "I'm a hard worker."

3.  It's okay to reference past accomplishments when telling the interviewer why they should hire you. "I am detail oriented. In fact, I was given special recognition by my current employer for perfecting project X." With this example, you've referenced a strength, an accomplishment, and special recognition your former employer felt compelled to give you. Try to make sure that your examples tie in to the position you're interviewing for.

There is lso another question of similar kind... "Where do you see yourself in 2/5 years?" Ah... when will the HR folks start being more creative? Or let's put it another way - template question deserves a template answer.
