Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco Chinatown 2009
This February you can expect to see a spectacular Chinese New Year celebration in San Francisco. Whether you celebrate it or not you can be aware that there will be a festival going on in your town and it's how the Chinese celebrate their New Year. The festival will be composed of rides of floats, music, fireworks and dancing. You can expect to see people in their traditional long dresses. You can expect to the see the exciting dragon dances by kids, martial arts, dancing, and acrobatics. You can always give a dollar to the man with a big belly walking around. It's just part of the tradition.
Southwest airline will sponsor this year's parade in San Francisco. There will also be many more small festivals in SF too beside the big one. You can expect the event to go off on Saturday, February 7 2009 5:15 pm. You can also watch the event on TV at n KTVU Fox 2 or KTSF Channel 26, 6:00-8:00 p.m. You can also apply to be a part of the parade. Make sure you get there for the early parking and record your show. You would also want to bring a cell phone and warm clothing.
