Amazingly huge vehicles you don't usually see on a daily basis.

Because of the creation of these massive machines numerous mega projects were realized with ease and efficiency. Let’s see some of the world’s largest vehicles/machines ever constructed. Most of the huge machines that are featured are for digging and mining.

1. Liebherr Hydraulic Shovel – One of the World’s Largest Hydraulic Shovel

The Gigantic Liebherr Hydraulic Shovel which is manufactured by Liebherr Group, a German manufacturing complex, is one of the world’s largest of its type. This large and heavy duty equipment is an open pit mining shovel. The picture is taken at the 2008 MinExpo in Las Vegas Nevada USA.

2. Caterpillar 797F – Caterpillar’s Largest and Highest Payload Capacity Haul Truck

This huge machine looks like a big house. The Caterpillar 797F is a powertrain haul truck created by Caterpillar Inc. of the US. Its primary purpose is for high production mining and heavy duty construction. It is Caterpillar’s largest, highest payload capacity haul truck and one of the largest in the world. This model was introduced in the last quarter of 2008 and entered full production in 2009. It is much larger and powerful than the 797B model and has a payload capacity of 400 short tons (363 t).The 797F is equipped with a rear axle mounted, computer controlled, seven speed planetary transmission.

3. Komatsu D575A Superdozer – World’s Largest Bulldozer Currently in Production

The Komatsu D575A Superdozer which was built by Japan’s Komatsu Ltd. is the largest bulldozer currently in production. This powerful bulldozer’s primary use is for coal mining in strip mining pita in North America. It is more efficient than the drag lines commonly used in strip mines.

This bulldozer with a height of 4.88 m or 16 ft and a length of 11.72 m or 38 ft 5 inches is the world’s most powerful and biggest bulldozer.

4. Mobile Launcher Platform World’s Largest of Its Kind

The Mobile Launcher Platform or MLP is a massive structure that weighs 8.23 million lbs if unloaded and weighs about 11 million pounds with a shuttle on board. This spectacular object measures 160 feet (49 m) by 135 feet (41 m), and is 25 feet (7.6 m) high It is one of three two-story structures used by NASA to support the Space Shuttle stack during its transportation from the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) to Launch Pad 39-A at the Kennedy Space Center. It also serves as the vehicle’s launch platform. It is powered by a Crawler-Transporter.

5. Volvo NH15 BP Tanker – One of the World’s Longest Road Train

The very long Volvo NH15 BP Tanker Road Train is a trailer truck manufactured by Volvo Company in 1998. This turbo diesel vehicle is particularly very popular in the continent of Australia.

6. Terex 33-19 Titan – One of the Largest and Highest Payload Capacity Truck Ever Built

The Terex 33-19 "Titan" was the highest capacity haul truck until 1998. If fully loaded, this monster truck has a top speed of 29.8 mph. It is a powertrain haul truck designed and built by the Terex Division of General Motors Corporation in 1973. Only one 33-19 was ever produced. After 13 years in service, the 33-19 was restored and is now preserved on static display in Sparwood in British Columbia, Canada. The 33-19 "Titan" was the largest in the Terex 33 series of off-road haulers.

7. Big Bud 747 – World’s Largest Farm Tractor

With a length of 27 ft, a width of 20 ft and a height of 14 ft, the Big Bud 747 or 16-V 747, is the world’s largest farm tractor. This custom made tractor was built in Montana, USA in 1977 and cost $300,000. It primary use is for deep ripping. It can cultivate 60 acres per hour with a speed of 8 mph. This mammoth tractor weighs 100,000 lbs.

8. “The Captain” Marion 6360 - Heaviest Land Vehicle Ever Built

With a total weight of 28 million lbs, The Captain was the world’s largest power shovel. This giant machine which was built by Marion power Shovel company in 1965 was the heaviest land vehicle ever built and one of the two largest land-based mobile machines ever built. Its bucket can hold 300 tons of material. This colossal machine was scrapped in 1992.

9. Lectra Haul Dump Truck – One of the World’s Largest Dump Trucks

Another monstrous truck is the Lectra Haul Dump Truck. It is an off-highway, two-axle, rigid dump truck for use in mining and heavy-duty construction environments. It has capacities range from 50 short tons (45 t) to 400 short tons (363 t).

10. Bucyrus-Erie 1850B “Big Brutus” – World’s 2nd Largest Electric Shovel and the Largest in Existence

The Bucyrus-Erie 1850B which is nicknamed “Big Brutus”, at 160 ft or 49 m high and a weight of 11 million lbs, is the world’s second largest electric shovel. It was in operation from the 1960s to 1970s. It is currently on display in the mining museum of West Mineral, Kansas, USA. Its bucket holds 150 tons and can attain a maximum speed of 0.22 mph. Although it is not the largest electric shovel ever built, it is the largest electric shovel still in existence. In 1962, it cost $6.5 million.
