How to Keep Your Dog Happy and Healthy

Time spent with your dog has a big impact on your his/her overall health and happiness. As little as 30 minutes per day could even help with some behavioral problems.

  • First you will want to make sure you have at least 30 minutes to devote to your dog before starting. No phone calls, no distractions, just you and your dog.
  • Then you will want to start off by brushing your dog. This feels great to your dog and stimulates blood flow. It also removes the loose hair and makes your dog's coat shine.
  • Next it is time for exercise and play. Throw the tennis ball and have your dog bring it back to you. Continue doing this for at least 10 minutes. If your dog does not bring the ball back, you will need to go and get it from them. Exercise is just as important for dogs as it is for humans.
  • Finally you will want to pet your dog with a gentle hand. Dogs need touch. If they lick you, try not to scold them. This is their way of showing they love you. Enjoy your happy healthy dog for many years to come.

-    If your dog does not like fetch, take him/her on a short walk.

-     Make sure your dog has plenty of water available after exercise.

-     Take your dog to the vet regularly.

-     Stay up to day with their vaccinations.
