Has the dry winter air got you shocking everything that you touch because of the static buildup on your carpets? This article will show you how to static guard your carpets using something that you probably already have in your house. You will need: * Downey Liquid Fabric Softener * Spray Bottle * Cold water

Begin to static guard your carpet by filling your spray bottle half way with water.  Fill the other half with liquid Downey.  Shake to mix the two.  The size of the bottle depends on how much carpet you have to static guard.  I usually use a small one that you can get at Walmart.

Now you can spray the Downey and water solution on your carpets.  Allow the carpet to completely dry before walking on it.  Congratulations, no more static!

Be sure to allow the carpet to dry completely before walking on it.
