Use Borax to Make Dishwasher Detergent / Soap
Everyone wants to save money. This simple recipe for dishwashing detergent will not only save you money, it requires very little to no effort on your part to make it. Anyone pinching pennies should give this alternative a try.
Measure 1 Cup Borax and 1 Cup Washing soda (or if you do not have this on hand, you can substitute baking soda), and 1/4 cup of regular old table salt.
Add the three above ingredients into a tupperware container with a tight fitting lid or some other airtight container. Thoroughly mix these three ingredients to combine them. I usually just give the container a good shaking to mix it together.
Add a tablespoon of the detergent to your dishwasher when you are ready to do a load and run it through the normal cycle that you usually use. Keep it stored in the airtight container.
Add vinegar as your rinse aid. You will find that your dishes come out clean and free of spots.
