You can save a lot of money on car repairs by using recycled auto parts. They are widely available at discount prices.

Sooner or later, your automobile is going to break down and unless you are mechanically inclined, you are going to have to pay a mechanic a lot of money to repair it and get it back on the road. If the repair requires new parts, it will cost you even more. There is one way that you can save money on car repairs and that is by having your mechanic install recycled car parts. Recycled components are more environmentally friendly because they save metals, raw materials, and energy that would have been spent on producing new car parts. A lot of oil is used to manufacture new car parts and with crude oil well over one hundred dollars a barrel, anything that we can save will help us in the future.

Recycled car parts are widely available at discount prices that save you lots of money. There is a huge network of available automotive recycles out there and they are all looking for your business and they sell their parts at low prices. Recyclers are a good deal for insurance companies also because it is cheaper for them to dispose of wrecked vehicles by dropping them off at a recycling yard.

The terminology that refers to recycled car parts can be confusing. For example what is the difference between rebuilt, remanufactured, reconditioned, and recycled parts and how do they compare to new parts and do they really save you money in the long run?

Rebuilt parts are those that have been completely disassembled, cleaned, and adjusted to perform like new parts. Bearings and any brushes have been replaced in case of alternators or other parts.

Remanufactured is basically the same as rebuilt, except they have been made in a large scale facility and they are often packaged like new parts. Parts that have been rebuilt assembly-line style are usually referred to as factory rebuilt or remanufactured.

Reconditioned refers to specialized parts for older model cars that are no longer in production. Properly reconditioned parts will include rust removal, replacement of any wearable parts and customized repairs for pieces no longer made.

If you decide to go with rebuilt or remanufactured parts on your car repairs, you can save up to 50 percent less than original-equipment parts. Its best if you shop around because some parts for popular models of cars might not save you that much money.

Recycled car parts usually come with a limited warranty, whereas rebuilt and remanufactured parts come with a much better warranty.
