How to make Garlic and Oregano Pizza Dough

I love pizza and I love to cook. I like to make thing from scratch so i came up with this pizza dough. Its fairly easy and very tasty.

*  1 package of active dry yeast
*  1 cup warm water (105deg F to 115deg F)
*  1/2 tsp salt
*  2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
*  2 1/2 - 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
*  1 tbls cornmeal
*  3 tbls granulate garlic
*  3 tbls dry oregano

Step 1

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand 5 minutes.

Step 2

If using stand mixer add yeast/water mixture, salt, olive oil, garlic, and oregano and mix on stir with dough hook. If using a bowl and spoon add the salt, olive oil, garlic, and oregano to the yeast/water mix and stir.

Step3

Stand mixer: Turn off and add 2 1/2 cups of flour. Turn mixer to setting 2 and mix for 1 minute.
Bowl and spoon: Add flour and mix until all liquid absorbed.

Step4

Stand mixer: Leave on setting 2 and add flour 1/2 cup at a time and mix until dough starts to clean sides of bowl. Knead on setting 2 for 2 minutes.
Bowl and spoon: Add flour using spoon until to stiff to stir with spoon. Switch to hands and knead in bowl until cleaning sides of bowl. Knead 10 to 15 more times.

Step 5

Both: Round dough and place in bowl with 2 tbls of olive oil and turn to coat. Cover with a clean/dry dish towel and let rise in a warm draft free area for 1 hour or until doubled in bulk.

Tips:

*  Make 14 inch pizza or divided dough in half and make two 12 inch thin crust.
*  14 inch pizza cook on 450 for 15 to 20 minutes
*  12 inch thin crust cook on 450 for 10 to 15 minutes.

Warnings:

*  Do not over knead! This will cause a tough crust.
