Sweet Potatoes are great for you can and is very easy to incorporate into your diet. Find out how long it takes to back one your next meal.

Sweet potatoes are quickly becoming one of the new “it” vegetables these days. This is because for their nutritional value is so much better than a typical baker’s potato. Despite having a tad more sugar, a sweet potato has two to three times the number of minerals and vitamins that most other potatoes do. Plus, they’re just so yummy.

If you have been looking to integrate this vege into your diet then you’ve probably been wondering: how long do you have to bake a sweet potato in the oven? Well, for really a sweet potato is cooked similarly to any other kind of potato. So for baking, it will take anywhere between thirty minutes to an hour and 350 degrees before it is done. The variance will depend on the size of the potato; smaller ones will cook faster than larger ones.

To check to see if potatoes are done, stick a fork in them. If they’re what is called “fork tender,” you should be able to stick the fork deep into the potato very easily and this would signal that they are done. Also, anything that has a dole point, like a fork, can be used to check tenderness if you wish. Sharper objects, such as a knife, may miss lead this test if you’re not sure what you’re looking for, so make sure it’s a dole pointed utensil. You could also squeeze the potato with an oven mitt, if it is soft to the pressure of your hand than that too is a sign that it is done.
