Spicey hot coffee

Coffee, what a wonderful medium for improvisation! Coffee can be made into an after dinner drink or a dessert in a cup, simply by adding a twist of lemon, a dash of brandy, or a dollop of whipped cream. These are just a few variations for that wonderful daily grind - coffee.

Coffee variation recipes are as easy to make, as they are to drink.

Brandied cappucino:

  1. 1 1/2 Tbls Brandy
  2. 3 c Strong hot coffee
  3. 3 c foamy hot mlik
  4. 4 Tbls whipping cream
  5. 4 whole coffee beans (garnish)

Place brandy in a tall mug. Fill with equal parts coffee and hot milk. Top with a dollop of cream and center a bean on top. Serves 4

Irish Caffe:

4 sugar cubes

  1. 4 c  Strong hot coffee
  2. 8 Tbls Irish whiskey
  3. 5 Tbls whipping cream

Begin by warming tall glasses or mugs. Hot water works well for this task. Next, place 1 cube sugar in each glass. Pour in 2 Tbls Irish whiskey per glass. Then fill with Steaming hot coffee. Top with a generous dollop of cream. Enjoy!

Coffee Caribe:

  1. 6 Tbls coffee flavored liqueur
  2. 4  Tbls rum
  3. 4 c strong hot coffee
  4. 4 Tbls whipped cream
  5. Enough brown sugar  and lemon to coat rims of 4 glasses

Rub the rim of glasses with lemon. Next coat  them with brown sugar. Into each glass place 1 1/2 Tbls liqueur and 1 Tbls rum. Fill with piping hot coffee. Stir lightly. Top with a fluff of cream and a sprinkle of brown sugar. Voila.
