Who Invented the Snickers Candy Bar? The following article will reveal this information as well as give additional information on the Snickers story.

Snickers Bar was invented in 1930. It was a product of the Mars family business. The tasty treat was named the “Snickers Bar: after one of the families favorite horses.

The Snickers Bar is made of peanut butter nougat which is topped with peanuts and a layer of caramel and then covered with milk chocolate. In spite of this delicious treat being the top selling candy bar of all time, many have tried to reproduce similar products with much less success.

Today, Mars Incorporated is one of the worlds largest confectionary companies. Their headquarters is in Virginia. Most people do not realize this, but the company also produces non-confectionary foods and pet foods in addition to the tasty snacks we associate with them most often.

The Mars company was started by Frank C. Mars. He began selling hand dipped chocolates at the age of 19 and his success went up from there. The Mars candy factory was opened in 1911 with his second wife Ethyl Mars. Mars is still a family business today, as it was in the beginning.

Due to cultural confectionary preferences, there is an offshoot company that operates in the UK called Mars Limited. This company produces chocolate bars for the region that meet heightened confection standards such Maltesers and Tunes. European taste for chocolate tends to be much sweater than that which is produced for American tastes.

The mars company has produced countless candy bars over almost an entire century. These range from the classic mars bars to some of todays favorites, the Three Musketeers, Dove Chocolates, Kudos, M&M’s, Milky Way, Skittles, Star Burst, Twix and many, many others.
