Easy French Onion Soup Recipe

An easy to make French Onion Soup recipe that is sure to please.

This is my version of French onion soup. It isn't the traditional recipe, but It's very easy to make. Everyone who has tried my French onion soup has been very pleased. Served with salad and bread, French onion soup makes a satisfying meal.

Easy French Onion Soup ingredients:

2 - 3 sweet onions cut into thin slices
2 TBS butter
2 cans beef broth
1 can water
1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
dash of black pepper
1 bay leaf

Directions:

Saute onions in butter until tender or caramelized. Add beef broth, water, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper and bay leaf. Cook for approximately 15 minutes until flavors are well-blended. Remove bay leaf

Pour soup into bowls.

Garnish soup with toasted French bread with sliced Provolone cheese melted on the bread. Or, you may serve French bread, baguette or other bread, on the side.

Note:
more or less water may be used to suit personal taste
