How to give Valentines presents that cost no money

Right at the start of February, Valentine’s Day has the unfortunate job of being the next big holiday after Christmas.  It’s often at a time when you have little money, but you really want to show that special someone that you care.

So what can you do?

Here are some great ways to prove your love without spending too  much money.

Compile a soundtrack to your love.
Sounds cheesy, but making a soundtrack filled with special songs for the one you love is a great way of showing them what they mean to you.  Put songs on there that remind you of them and songs where the lyrics are really saying something.  The best thing about this gift is that you can do it quite easily and it’s something that they can continue to use all year!

Cook a meal.
Much cheaper than going out to eat and so much more meaningful.  Take time to prepare a three course meal with their favourite dishes and it will be a real Valentine’s day to remember.

Frame it.
Print out a favourite photograph of the two of you together and put it in a personalised frame.  By buying a cheap frame and decorating it yourself, you’re adding a unique and original tough and making the Valentine’s gift really special.

Valentines adventure
Plan a full day out filled with activities and take your loved one on a Valentine’s adventure.  There are many places where it’s free to visit such as museums, parks, art galleries.  Check the opening times and spend some time planning activities.  Show your valentine that you care by taking time to spend time with them.

I Owe You...
Make a selection of little love notes or special treats that they can use all year round.

But if you don't have the time or money to do any of the above, at least take time to make a simple card.  It dosn't have to be a work of art, even a folded sheet of paper with a special message inside will do.  The most important thing is to let them know you care.
