Optimize Adobe BridgeCS3 for Photographers

Jan 9th, 2009 by findingmyzen

If you use Adobe Bridge for managing your images and exporting to photoshop or illustrator or even use it to upload images to a photo service but find that it is using a lot of resources, then perhaps you just need to optimize your settings.

Preferences screenshot In this step you will open Adobe BridgeCS3. Once it's opened click on Edit>Prefences or just hit CTRL-K to open preferences automatically. Please view image for more details.
startup scripts preference screenshot Now that you have preferences opened you will look down the list and click on >startup scripts. You will view a list of scripts that you can enable or disable upon startup. (This article serves as the purpose for a photographer, but if you are a graphic design or web designer you can choosing different scripts) Please view image for more details
Now, as a photographer the only two software I really work with is the Canon DPP for faster editing and PhotoshopCS3 for major image editing. So, if you do the same you can disable all the scripts that you will not need. please view image for more details
Now the only scripts I currently allow is Adobe Bridge, PhotoshopCS3 and Photoshop Services. I use photoshop services to order prints as well as upload images to another service such as smugmug. These settings is what I would recommend to any photographer-however your own needs reflect what you want set. Just understand if you decide to keep all the scripts running your Adobe Bridge will continue to run slow. good luck.
