5 most sexy banned PETA ads rejected from network television are described here. Who thought vegetables could be made into a porn video?
PETA banned ads in television has become commonplace. Who hasn’t heard of their rejected, hypersexual ads? We're used to it by now. You think? PETA’s ads invoke a series of reactions – from delight to sheer outrage. They set out to make waves while furthering their cause. Whether you like or hate PETA, it goes without saying they are a sagacious organization willing to use all means necessary to make their voices heard. In spite of the offensive tactics used, the entertainment value of banned PETA ads is worth checking out.
A number of banned PETA ads have been talked about. Listed are 5 of the most explicit ads rejected by television networks. Four of the videos can be viewed on Banned PETA Ads. Due to graphic nature of the ads, some of the content is graphic in description, even though vegetables are involved!
Banned PETA Ads: Meat/Impotence – GoVeg.comA dated, 70’s setting takes place in a living room - two scantily clad women having a pillow fight on a couch when there’s a knock at the door. They open it and a man wearing a t-shirt reading “Big Meat” is holding a pizza. Next scene, the brunette hangs all over him and suggestively says to the blonde, “The pizza’s here.” The man with pizza answers seductively, “With extra sausage.” A full-on view of his crotch is focused, immediately followed by a close-up of the brunette’s exposed lower cheeks out of her shorts as she walks behind him. Next clip, all 3 are behind the couch, leaving some porn scene to the imagination, but not for long. The blonde soon pops up and says, “Hey, what happened to the sausage?” All 3 rise up behind the couch – mood totally ruined. Again, the doorbell rings and in comes another man – this time with a grocery bag of vegetables. The two women throw themselves at veggie man and behind the couch they go a second time. Next message across the screen reads, “GoVeg.com.”
Banned PETA Ads: Singing CowsPETA was prepared to pay CBS $2.5 million for a 30-second Superbowl ad of cows singing about the protest of leather. The lyrics went something like, “Our sweet backside would like to stay together, we don’t want to be your leather. Not a jacket or a shoe, this skin ain’t for you. Do I make myself clear? Keep your hands off my rear!” The ad promotes CowsAreCool.com.
Banned PETA Ads: Mating CatsBlunt, to the point, bad image quality. This ad promotes FixCats.com. Commercial begins with a door closing behind lady the leaving house. A white cat is seen in front of the fire place, feeling frisky. Flames fire up behind her, rock music plays, and next she’s mounted by an orange tabby. As they mate, fish swim excitedly, dogs watch through the window, and home furnishings shake. Messages intermittently pop on the screen: “over 2.4 million cats born each year, most will be put to death, it’s a problem you can fix, spay or neuter your cat.” Commercial ends with white cat, ahem…passionately meowing in front of camera.
Banned PETA Ads: Rude FoodsThis one really breaks new ground when it comes to innuendos in advertising! It promotes GoVeg.com. This ad was rejected for the 2002 Superbowl. It’s fairly obvious this one won’t reach the airwaves. Slow, enticing music follows a woman’s hand suggestively moving across a table then turns to rolling dough in such a manner, she’s almost massaging it. Next clip is a man’s finger brushing against an open pea with the pod seen, being gently touched. Proceeding scenes follow of a red pepper in a frying pan, cutting to a covered pan of boiling noodles. Music speeds up, steam from covered pots and pans rapidly increase, then an explosion of boiling water microscopically shoots across the screen. Another clip has a vegetable split in half with thick juice oozing out from it then ends with the tip of an asparagus spear dripping water. A fitting message concludes the scene with “Turn onto Veganism.”
Banned PETA Ads: Sex Talk with TeenagerTwo parents are having a heart-to-heart with their daughter in her bedroom. They tell her she should start having sex and nail everything she can. Her mom tells her if it has a pulse, she should be wrapped around it. The girls ask “What if I get pregnant?” Her father answers, “No problem. It’s really not important. You should have all the kids you want. We can just leave ‘em on the street, dump in the shelter, whatever.” The daughter looks at them horrified as messages read onscreen, “Parents shouldn’t act this way. Neither should people with dogs and cats. Always spay or neuter.”
More banned PETA ads have surfaced since. These were the most obscure of commercials up for the Superbowl. Makes you wonder if PETA knows their ads will banned anyway, so why not go for it.
