Ocean Storm

Nature is the landscape for this poetry piece.

I live 2 blocks from the Pacific Ocean shore allowing me many wonderous sights for poetry writing. Storms are one of my favorite topics, especially during the winter months. I am one of many who truly love storm watching on the west coast. This poem was composed during one of those very mild storms, that I captured nature in some fury. The great body of water always provides me with material for more prose espcially because it is ever changing. Not only does the movement of the water look different, so do the colors of the water seem to take on different hues at specific times. I invite you to put yourself in my words to visualize the glory of the Pacific Ocean with me. Enjoy!

"OCEAN STORM"

Watching the waves in the ocean so deep

White caps as far as the eye can see.

Rolling swirls they curl, thundering under feet

Seem to shout out loudly "look at me".

Majestically coming ashore without stopping

Nothing is ceased or given rest

Sand and urchins move as if they're mopping

Time after time waves give it their best.

Sky of blue, ocean of green, ask of me "Where have you been?"

Waters perpetual motion repeat this word

Now I have drawn you nearer so you've seen

Instead of sea life, now you have been lured.

Nothing more furious, nothing more calm

Captures my interest, love and delight

The ocean movement and all of it's balm

It all encompasses my day and my night.
