You can make your home celebration one to remember. All you have to do is put a little thought into what you want to do, put a little effort into the planning and pull it off. You can have a simple party simply by calling the crew to get together in a few days. You don’t have to worry about formalities. This kind of party is usually reserved for close friends and family. Now spend a few hours tidying up your home. If you like throw a little decoration up and go out to purchase some flowers from the local super market. You can cook a simple one dish meal such pizza, spaghetti, stew, chili or the like. Make a beautiful salad and a dessert. If you don’t feel like cooking buy the food and put it in your nice serving dishes that you never use. Just in case that you have vegetarian friends pick up or make cheese, veggie and fruit tray. Buy some pop and wine to drink.

For your entertainment set up a game center, dancing area and music. Some TV channels play free music or use your disk player. You can ask your guests to bring their favorite tape to play. So you and your guests are going to eat, play games, dance, listen to music and of course socialize. You will enjoy entertaining your friends and family on a small budget and they will be very glad that you invited them to a party in your home.

Party Idea Number Two

The next party idea is for you and your family to invite some close friends and family members over for a movie night. You can find a movie in your own collection, rent one or if it is one that you want to keep, then buy one and add it to your collection. Make sure that you have plenty of popcorn and punch to serve during the movie.

At some time that day or evening you can serve hot dogs, corn dogs, hamburgers, pizza or some other dish of your choice, a drink and a nice dessert.

After the movie you might want to have a discussion about it with your guests. Make the discussion light because your guests may not be comfortable with the idea. If you sense a problem then turn on the funky music and go to your plan B which in this case would be a dance.

Party Number Three

This party idea is to have a Champaign Brunch for your family and friends. You can have this one in your home and use your crystal, china, silver, cloth table and napkins. In other words lay this brunch out for your guests. You already have the stuff. What are you keeping it for? If you are still in the process of accumulating your fine dining ware or just simply not that type then use some pretty paper goods or plastic. The idea is to show your people that they are special to you. They’ll eat the idea up. Decorate the table with roses or other bouquet.

Take a little time to tidy up the crib before the brunch and shine your dishes before your party. Clean a little bit daily or do it in one setting.

The food can be purchased and set up in your beautiful serving trays or you can cook the food yourself. Choose a menu that you can make ahead so you want be too tired to enjoy your guests. Make or purchase desserts for your brunch. The food and beverages can be purchased for a small amount of money depending on the number of people that you invited. My estimate is $5.00-$10.00 per person.

For entertainment play soft in the background. You can set up stations for conversation, music, cards, dominos or whatever you choose. If there are kids coming to the brunch have a short kiddy movie that they will enjoy. It may also be a good idea to go to the dollar store and purchase each kid a game or coloring book.

Drinks for the brunch can consist of mimosa (Champaign and orange juice), sparkling cider, soft drinks coffee and tea.
