Free Star Motif Crochet Pattern

Materials you will need to crochet one star:

Small amount of yellow worsted weight yarn (or any color worsted weight yarn you choose to crochet your star in)

Size H crochet hook

Size: This star measures approximately 4 1/2" in diameter.

Rnd 1: Ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join w sl st in top of ch 3 (12 dc).

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same dc, * ch 3, sk 1 dc, sc in next dc, rep from * around, joining w sl st in 1st sc (6 sc plus 6 ch 3 sp). You are making a 6-point star.

Rnd 3: Sl st in 1st ch 3 sp, ch 1, * work sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc all in the same ch 3 sp, sk next sc, rep from * around, join w sl st in beg sc (You will now have 6 "petals" that will turn into points on Rnd 4. Or, you can choose to stop crocheting now and be left with a flower!).

Rnd 4: Sl st into sp between the 1st 2 dc (you will work the points between these 2 stitches), ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc in same sp, sk the next 3 sts, dc into the center of the sc of Rnd 2 below (here is where the texture comes in), sk the next 3 sts  * (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in sp between next 2 dc, sk next 3 sts, dc into center of sc of Rnd 2 below, sk next 3 sts, rep from * around, join w sl st in top of ch 3, fasten off (6 points).

Weave in ends. Enjoy !
