FYI - Cleaning For A Reason Foundation offers Free Professional Maid and Housekeeping Services for Female Cancer Patients
Just recently, a former classmate from Mannheim American High School in Mannheim, Germany sent me an email. In this email to me, and others on her email list, she let us know about Cleaning for A Reason Foundation a free professional maid and housekeeping services for female cancer patients. This was of special interest to me, since I have and have had friends with cancer and my sister recently died from various types of cancer.
In her email, it states,
“If you know any woman currently undergoing Chemo, please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides FREE housecleaning - 1 time per month for 4 months while she is in treatment.
All she has to do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the treatment. Cleaning for a Reason will have a participating maid service in her zip code area arrange for the service.

Please pass this information on to bless a woman going through Breast Cancer treatment. This organization serves the entire USA and currently has 547 partners to help these women. It‘s our job to pass the word and let them know that there are people out there that care. Be a blessing to someone and pass this information along.”
After checking out the site and checking snopes dot come to find out that it was a true claim, I began sending the information to various individuals in my email list as well as sending it out in tweets on Twitter.
Cleaning for A Reason Foundation according to the snopes dot com site:
“Since 2007, the Texas-based group has been connecting cancer patients in the United States and Canada with cleaning firms who offer their services for free to cancer patients, and as of November 2009 their partners had cleaned upwards of 2,000 homes at an estimated donated cost of $350,000. Cleaning for a Reason fields about 325 calls per month and currently has 604 cleaning partners throughout the fifty states and four Canadian provinces.”
From the Cleaning For A Reason website:
“Fighting cancer is difficult enough, but living with it is even tougher - and that’s where the Cleaning for A Reason Foundation steps in. This newly formed nonprofit offers free professional housecleaning, and maid services to improve the lives of women undergoing treatment for cancer - any type of cancer.”
“You can help now. If you currently use a professional house cleaning service to clean your home, please call and ask them if they’ve heard of the Cleaning For A Reason foundation. Every day, we recruit a new maid service to join our program and become Partners with a heart and soul for house cleaning.”
According to the Cleaning For A Reason website, they now have 611 partners in 50 states and Canada. They are also open to having new partners join in this mission to help women who are battling cancer and taking Chemo treatments. Therefore, if you are a maid service or a housekeeping service, you may want to visit the website to offer your help to others along with this non-profit organization.
The Cleaning For A Reason website offers a newsletter that helps to keep you up to date with the Cleaning For A Reason Foundation. They do take donations and they offer a Gift Cards For A Cause program. You can order your gift cards online and help raise money for the foundation at the same time. I also found while searching the Good Search website that has a search for Cleaning For A Reason Foundation that donates money to their cause each time you use that search engine.
People, this is a wonderful idea and a great opportunity to help those women who are suffering from and battling cancer while also taking Chemo treatments. Pass the word on so others may learn more about it. I believe this is definitely a means to many blessings. If you are a female cancer patient, undergoing Chemo treatments in need of a little extra help that can mean so much, please visit the Cleaning For A Reason Foundation website today.
