Motivate Yourself to Keep Exercising

You have taken to exercising after a long time, so naturally your body aches and is sore

  • You have taken to exercising after a long time, so naturally your body aches and is sore.
  • Start exercising slowly and enjoy yourself. Tell yourself that your body needs it.
  • If you are totally new to exercising, then there will be a lot of apprehension. Sometimes we fight the apprehension by just taking flight.
  • Instead, fight the apprehension by telling yourself that you can do it.
  • Being methodical can help you stick to the routine.
  • Run for fifteen seconds the first day. This should be no problem.
  • Keep adding fifteen seconds every day to your routine and you will find that you run effortlessly for 20 minutes within the second month.
  • Apply this principal to whichever form of exercise you do, whether it is swimming, yoga or even playing tennis.
  • Stick to your plan every day without doing more than the required amount.
  • Doing more than necessary a day will trigger stress and pain and this in turn will make you skip exercising.
  • You can further motivate yourself by looking into the mirror and comparing your new found body with an old photo of yours.
  • Your body will feel lighter and you will probably be able to skip up and down the stairs gleefully during those power cuts at the office and at home.
  • Love your body by not just eating rich food that your tickle your taste buds so much, but by giving every muscle a work out.
  • Doesn't your body deserve this kind of attention? All it needs is for you to cut down on television viewing or talking on the phone to a dear friend.

So, take up exercising, slowly and gradually so that it becomes as much a part of you as breathing.
