Jett dies in Bahamas on Friday January 2, 2009, after falling. Address included at end.

Some of us recall the great performances of John Travolta in our favorite movies. Now we can all mourn with him with the passing of his son, 16 year old Jett.

The Travolta family now includes their 8 year old daughter, Ella,  who was born in 2000, John and Kelly. The family has houses in Florida, Calfornia and the condo in the Bahamas. You might have seen some internet pictures of the spread in Florida that includes a jet hanger and a private runway. At one time the neighbors were complaining about the noise the planes taking off and landing made in the quiet community.

While vacationing in the Bahamas since 12/30/08 the Travolta family had a tragic ending. Jett was 16,  had a condition called Kawasaki disease and suffered from seizures in the past. He fell in the bathroom and hit his head on Friday January 2, 2009.  Sources state John tried to revive him without being successful. An autopsy will determine the cause of death.

Kawasaki disease was identified by a doctor in 1967 for whom the condition is named. It is also known as mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome since it affects the lymph nodes. Primarily the condition affects the medium sized arteries throughhout the body, including the coronary artery.  This affects children form age 2 to 5 years old, primarily boys rather than girls.  It is generally treatening to Japanese and Korean decent people, but can be seen in any race or place of origin.

     Symptoms that develop include:

1.  Severe redness in the eyes.

2.  A rash on the stomach, chest and genitals

3.  Red , dry cracked lips

4.  Swollen tongue with a white coating and big red bumps

5.  Sore irritated throat.

6.  Swollen palms of the hands and soles of the feet with a purple/red color.

7.  Swollen lymph nodes.

During the phase 2, generally within 2 weeks of the onset of the fever, the hands might begin to peel in large pieces. There might be some vomiting, diarrhea or abdominal pain. a doctor should be called if any or some of these symptoms are noticed.

I don't know if anyone would be interested in sending a sympathy card so will include an address should you like to extend your condolences. 15821 Ventura Boulevard Suite 460 Encino California 91436

John Travolta and Kelly Preston own a home where I live with my family in Florida. He is a private person, a grieving parent, and should be left alone. I have the Florida address, but won't publish it. The family has 'help' to receive such things as mail and packages from well-intentioned outsiders, so the family may never see what your send. It is nice that we feel some of his pain, but for now, it probably isn't important to him. The story about Jett's death has changed several times. It doesn't matter how he died-he is still dead. That is something John and Kelly can't change. If you feel compelled to send a card-go ahead, then give it a rest. Bukisa needs a good spell check program ;-)
