Where were you when JFK was shot?

Those of us who were alive when that happened, remember well!

With the new incoming president, I reflect on the great presidents of the past. In my way of thinking, I have to go back many years to find the great one. Of course by my title, you can tell where I landed to secure my footing.

Many times I have recalled where I was when JFK was shot. Why do I do that? It was a startling abruptness to the world that I was living in at that time. I had prepared from 7th grade to become a nurse. I took the correct courses and actually saved to put myself through nursing school. I was in nursing school, in the basement of the nurse's residence, when all the hustle and bustle was still and maudlin.  The news came over a loud speaker for all to share in the shock. " The President has been shot". No, I don't recall who said those words, but as the announcements were aired, David Brinkley's voice is one I recall hearing. Walter Cronkite's recognizable tone was among the voices during the course of all that was being shared was audible.too.

At first, my inner thoughts were;  he is going to be alright. I do recall praying that God would hear me uttering that summoning for Him to guide this JFK to safety. Of course the untimate healing is dealth, so God heard my prayer and just did not answer it in the way I had hoped.

Gasps, words of disbelief resounded in the basement of the nurse's residence for quite a while. We all knew JFK.  Seems as though life as we knew it, would never be the same. Little did I know then that the world would never be the same.
