Roadside Emergency Kit for your car

If you own your own car , You need to be ready for roadside emergencies or break downs.

You never know when or where something is going to happen , it could be something minor or you could get stuck in the desert or snow covered mountains for hours or maybe days. It is easy to put together a emergency kit on your own & keep it in your truck

First off you will need some basic tools. Even if you don't know how to fix your car or use the tools, there might be someone with you that can , if you don't have basic tools you can't make even minor repairs. Here is a short list for a basic tool kit large & small Straight blade screw driver large & small Phillips blade screw driver Pliers or vise grips Adjustable Cresent wrench can of Fix-A-Flat Tire pressure gauge Rags or paper towels Roll of duct tape Pocketknife Extra fuses Flashlight and extra batteries jumper cables Four 15-minute roadside flares OR reflector tri-angles Put it in a small canvas or nylon bag & keep it in your trunk ALL THE TIME. You never know when a loose screw or a loose nut or bolt will casue a problem that will stop you dead in you tracks. Fluids for your car , always check the fliuds in your car every other time you fill up with gas. It only takes a few minutes & could mean the differance between getting to your destination or sitting on the side of the road. But if you do break down & need to re-fill or top off some of the fluids it nice to have them with you. 1 gallon of water or anti-freeze for the radiator Two quarts of oil 1 quart of automatic transmission fluid ( if you have a auto trans ) 1 pint of power steering fluid 1 pint of brake fluid Put these in a small box & store it in your trunk , make sure the tops are on tight & try to keep them stored up-right so they don't leak all over the place Other item you might want to carry in you car Granola or energy bars Bottled drinking water Pen and paper Help sign Blanket Matches or a bic lighter These items are best for long trips , but they can be carried all the time if you have the extra room in your trunk A First AID KIT isn't something that most people carry in their car, but if it is needed you'll be glad you have one. It should including an assortment of lagre & small bandages, gauze, adhesive tape, antiseptic cream, instant ice and heat compresses, scissors and aspirin. A CELL PHONE If you carry one thing I think a cell phone is the most important. If your stuck in the snow or mud , broke down , been in a accedent , lost , late , not feeling good or injured,need the cops or what ever ,Being able to call for help in the most valuable thing & it could mean the differance between life or death in a serious situation.
