Can you put me back together?

Poetry written with a question in the title does not always get answered.

When people express themselves in poetry, I have found, things don't always make complete sense.  No one can or is responsible for breaking someone else's heart. We are vunerable yet seeking for a special somone when, at times, the right one is not on our same wave length. The paths never do join in the same degree for each other.  It is known too, that there is, to some degree, a difference of caring between  2 poeple. It is when that gap is huge that there is a longing for how we wanted things to be. No one can heal the torn or damaged feelings that we own ourselves. It is up to us to work on being whole and thus healing with time and effort. If you can relate to this poem, just know as time goes by, the healing will take place for you. When the wound is new, the hurt is fresh. As the soreness diminishes, the healing has already started to take place.

"Can you put me back together?"

Put my heart strings back where they should be

Tell me things that will help me to once again be free.

Don't hold me with your arms like you did before

They gently pull me toward you, till I want more.

Have the music play any old song at all

I won't be subdued by your stature so tall.

Keep my dreams from coming every single night

They always seem to make, my heart take flight.

If you come any closer my lips will need you too

My cheeks will certainly blush with a rosey hue.

Let my breaths breathe as they once did

Watch the butterflies leave, that I once hid.

You did all these things to me, or I let you

Put me back together since I don't have a clue.
