This will give you details on how you can develop your people by making the right assumptions about your employees.

Assumption #1- Everyone wants to feel important. No matter what kind of negative feedback you may get from your employee deep down inside the employee does want to feel important and you must find how to make that happen.

Assumption #2- Everybody needs and responds to encouragement. If we take people as they are right now and do nothing then we make them worse. If we take them as they should be we help them become who they can be. At this point you must determine the right way to encourage your employee so that they will respond to your encouragement.

Assumption #3- People "buy into" the leader before they "buy into" their leadership. People really do not care how much you know but what they do care about is how much you care. Do not impress them with your knowledge impress them with your commitment to them!
Assumption #4- People do not know how to be successful. Success happens when preparation and opportunity meet. You must always be prepared for the opportunity. Success is a process . It does not happen overnight. It is all about the growth and development of a person. Success is not learning how to never fail but learning from your failures. If you don't learn from your mistakes then that mistake was not worth making.
Assumption #5- Most people are naturally motivated . People begin with the desire to be motivated but then often are de-motivated and then have to be re-motivated again. This is often true of your new hires to a job. They are very eager to learn but then somewhere during their development they become de-motivated by employee dynamics. We must always engage our people and keep them motivated.
Keep all of the assumptions in mind when developing your people.
