The Ten Most Wondrous Places in The World to Visit.

Where in the World are the most amazing sights? Each year, instead of going to the same places, go to somewhere that will blow your mind!

The Earth is such a beautiful planet, the wealth of which was not truly known before the first views of the planet from space were made available. When viewed from the International Space Station (ISP), the Earth is a wondrous view, with many beautiful places standing out from the others, like the Uluru-Ayres Rock in Australia, the Himalayas or the Great Lakes. With that in mind, ten of the most amazing places in the world to visit are, but are in no way limited to;

* The Grand Canyon. Not just another little hole in the ground, the Grand Canyon must be one of the most wondrous places on the Earth to visit, especially since the construction of the walkway that goes over the edge, with glass sides and bottom, which gives the viewers a panoramic view below their feet.  And an uneasy feeling in their stomachs.

Camping, mule rides, swimming under waterfalls, white water rafting and zip line riding are amongst the many eco-tourist adventures waiting for one and all at the Grand Canyon. For the more hearty, there is backwoods camping and kayaking available, but the waiting lists for these events can be years long.

* Yellowstone National Park.  Yes, Old Faithful. Staying in the United States, Yellowstone National Park, where Old Faithful remains faithful, and boiling lava, steam and water geysers await the camera holders, awaits one and all. The old geyser, pun intended, is one of the most accurately occuring natural phenomenon in the world. Fishing, camping, and being blown away by the power and regularity of the geysers all await you.  But beware, the bears in the parking lots may try to steal your lunch, or anything else that smells or looks good to them.

* Tibetan Sky Temples. In Tibet, the world's highest temples can be visited, amongst some of the most beautiful mountain vistas there are in any country. There really is a reason that they believed that they were closer to Buddha up there. Tours can be arranged, or rental vehicles arranged in advance so that you can visit more than one of these majestic Temples. Of course, you can always go the way it was meant and walk the Stairway to Heaven.

* Hawaii. A major bonus with getting a few beautiful islands in one pick, Hawaii would have to be on anyone's top-ten list of amazing places in the world worth visiting. Volcanic activity, rain-forests and surfing the way it was meant to be can all be realized in Hawaii. Don't forget the sun-tan lotion (sunblock be darned!). Be like Elvis and get a helicopter ride, with a panoramic view of the entire island chain, the active volcanoes, and a private beach picnic. Waterfalls by the hundreds and pristine pools of aqua-marine saltwater at the perfect temperature for swimming, all await the eager or constant traveler.

* New Orleans. The French Quarter, all that jazz, blues and rockabilly music.  And, besides, if there is one city in North America that needs your tourism dollars these days it is New Orleans. Come on down and see the New Orleans Saints play NFL football, in one of the most modern football stadiums in the league.  Actually, one of the better teams in the league for the past couple of seasons, and a lock for the post season this year. Come during Mardi Gras and you may never want to leave (some don't).  Stay for a while and volunteer your skills with home building.

* The Bay of Fundy. Bordering Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Maine, USA, the Bay of Fundy hosts the worlds highest and most astounding tidal bores. The differential between high tide and low tide can be more than 50 feet in many places, mostly towards the New Brunswick/Nova Scotia border. Where rivers feed into the Bay, as the tide comes in, rides on rubber boats against the tidal bore will beat any white water rafting experience there is, as waves of 30 feet and higher race up the rivers. The North Atlantic Wright Whale, a very friendly and accommodating whale for whale watchers, will most definitely not disappoint.

* Rio de Janeiro. The second largest city in Brazil awaits you. Tourists are treated very well here, as long as they stay away from the low-income areas. The festivals, beach-front rock concerts, the Carnival, the mountain and the shanties are all must-sees. The statue of Christ, overlooking the city and the beaches, is about 136 feet tall, and is a must visit, if not just for the panoramic and majestic views. Oh, and the women. God bless them all.

* Mount Vesuvius. Of the more than 1,500 active volcanoes on the planet, including the Hawaiian islands, Mount Vesuvius is the one that must be visited. The ruins of Pompeii, the center of gluttony, greed and lust, where the people were deep-fried where they stood (or sat, laid, etc.). There are nowadays volcanoes with millions of people living in their shadows, and with a repeat of Mount Vesuvius, times a few hundred thousand, for cities like Tokyo, the results these days would be catastrophic.

* Angel Falls. Located in the Guiana Highlands, Angel Falls is roughly 15 times higher than Niagara Falls, at roughly 3,000 feet. To get here, expect a major hike, as there are no roads leading to the tourism highlight. The thick and life-sustaining rain-forest created by the mist that can carry in the winds for miles.

* The Himalayan Mountains, Where Earth meets Sky. The world's highest mountain chain is located mainly in the Northern Indian Sub-Continent. Many expeditions, of mountain and rock climbers, and photographers, have found that they just can not beat the mountains, as the weather can change in mere minutes. Take a gondola ride to a high peak, and then take a walk amongst the clouds,

No matter where you decide to travel to, going to one of the top-ten most amazing places in the world will surely bring out the best in you. Explore the limits of your physical endurance to the max, and some of the greatest and most splendid vistas that Mother Nature has to offer. There are many other sites that are worthy of being in any top-ten list of amazing places in the world to visit.
