An honest review of John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette shampoo and conditioner.
I recently tried a free sample of John Frieda Brilliant Brunette shampoo and conditioner. It was said to be "liquid shine illuminating shampoo and conditioner with shine-infusing complex."
The Package
The free sample came in a pretty standard size of almost a third of an ounce each (0.28 fluid ounces). The packages were small foil packets and were mostly gold colored with brown and black as well as a picture of the normal bottles that are white, brown, and gold tones.
The Scent
When I first opened the shampoo I noticed it had a luxurious aroma. It was a scent I couldn't quite put my finger on. I want to say it smells liek coconut, but maybe just a hint, with other nuts and some type of other fresh nutty fragrance. I still cannot place it. I asked my boyfriend for his opinion and he liked it but couldn't identify the scent, either.
I fell in love with the scent immediately, but how did the shampoo and conditioner perform overall?
I squeezed some of the pearly white creamy shampoo into my hand and lathered it into my hair. It smelled and felt luxurious. It foamed nicely and was easy to apply and rinsed out well also. The conditioner was a little thicker but also creamy, pearly, and luxurious with a heavenly fragrance. It spread easily throughout my hair and I left it in for a few minutes before rinsing. It rinsed well just as the shampoo had.
When my hair was all rinsed and thoroughly dried, it still carried a pleasant aroma that I could smell throughout the day. My hair was shiny and silky and easy to manage. I didn't necessarily think it was incredibly shinier, but it certainly smelled good and was nice and smooth, which is something I enjoy.
Overall
I don't know how much this product retails for in the store, but I would highly recommend it if it's a good price. John Frieda products are available at nearly any store where other shampoos are sold, such as grocery stores, Rite-Aid, Walmart, and other retailers.
I tried to find out more information online regarding if this company/product is cruelty-free, but I was unable to attain information regarding such; for this reason, it's not something I would personally buy, although I am craving that scent!
If you like wonderfully smelling shampoos and conditioners that leave your hair smooth and silky as well as manageable, I would definitely suggest trying John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine or some of the other products offered, such as Radiant Red, Sheer Blonde, or Root Awakening.
