Here is an article about acupuncture as alternative medical method.

Acupuncture is a therapeutic method almost harmless when applied correctly it does not require medication and is easy to use and very effective in those in which the pain is fundamental symptom in psychosomatic disorders that are influenced by psychosocial factors, plus the experience has shown clinical success in treating other symptoms, diseases and health problems that appear in the indices and therapeutic forms of specialized hours.

The historical background of acupuncture are very remote, the emergence of such method is discussed by different authors in different times and places, for example, in Asia during the stone age as evidenced by the stone needles found in Korea that are conserved the museum of the history of Pyongyang (capital of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea). The first written references about acupuncture point out that such method is practiced in some villages of the former east five thousand years ago (Korea, China, Vietnam) and spread to other towns in this region during the Middle Ages (Japan and Mongolia ) and was introduced in Europe in the seventeenth century but it was until the mid-twentieth century was known in the Americas (Argentina 1948).

During the 70 years since acupuncture was practiced in various institutions of the country and increased use in the mid-90s during the so-called Special Period of the need to seek other alternative pathways in Public Health to address the lack of medicines caused by the serious economic problems affecting Cuban society and the desirability of incorporating this treatment arsenal to Cuba for medical benefit from, this is because sometimes it is called alternative medicine, and can combine Eastern and Western medicine.

The essence of this technique takes as its starting point the concept of health is more than just the absence of disease. The state of equilibrium between the different elements and the physical environment so this type of medicine emphasizes the prevention explaining the maintenance of this steady state and when a break occurs in this application of different techniques should target recovery by stimulating activity and the mechanisms of the body more than the war against the agents of the imbalance.

For better understanding and application of this technique in medicine bioenergetics are useful knowledge provided by basic science, mostly from surface anatomy, especially the details of anatomical structure that is in outstanding external surface of the human body that serve as a reference for locating acupuncture points and also vessels and nerves near the points to no harm in applying different techniques.

In literature reviews are performed acupuncture points on the limbs which are in the large intestine as delayed childbirth 4 (IG4) or prohibited in pregnancy because it breaks the uterine, pancreas and base 6 (BP6) that deal with all organs of the pelvis and external genitalia and stomach 34 (E34) that produces general toning of the body.

Motivated in this sense we do our work Residency Completion doing acupuncture stimuli in these patients who completed their 41 weeks of gestation without initiating labor to otherwise induce labor and delivery through this route with a lower cost alternative economic since it avoids the use of medications and reduce the patient’s stay in the hospital with minimal side effects.
