A creative way to serve alcohol at a party is through delicious jello shots

Basically, you make jello shots by making regular jello but adding alcohol into the mixture instead of water. There is a few tips that you should know in order to have the jello shots set correctly. Read more to find out.

Start out by boiling the water. Once you have the water to a rolling boil, remove it from the heat.

In a mixing bowl, stir together the boiling water with the powered jello. Stir until the jello is completely dissolved.

Next step is to stir in the cold water and alcohol. Depending on the proof of alochol that you use, you will need to adjust your proportions in order for the jello to set correctly.

Use the following ratios:

-13 ounces of 30-50 (20%) proof alcohol to 3 ounces cold water.
-10 ounces of 80-100 (45%) proof alcohol to 6 ounces cold water.
-6 ounces of 150-200 proof alcohol to 10 ounces cold water.

Chill the alcohol at least an hour in the refrigerator before attempting to make your jello shots. Do not put in the freezer unless it's over 80 proof or the bottle may break.

Spray the inside of your jello cups with cooking spray. This will help the shots to slide out easily. You may also want to consider adding spoons or popsicle sticks to the cups.

Pour the mixture into the shot glasses. (1-2 oz squeezeable plastic cups) To make the jello shots easier to consume, buy plastic cups with lids. Pour the mixture into the cups, add the lid and then place the cup upside down before putting it into the fridge.
