Greetings to all,

We are getting close to that time of the year where we'll go out, have some fun, celebrate the new year's with family and friends and yes... drink in excess.

I don't know about you but I like rum cocktails and I have a sweet tooth so I can drink alcohol as far as it taste delicious and sweet! I love cocktails, colorful cocktails, and tasteful cocktails. Some times when you are in a private party you find a full bar with dozens of bottles for you to play with. Some times, they even have a bartender and you can ask him or her to make you a special drink just for you.
I personally like to make my own drinks or tell them my "taste buds" and let them make a drink based on my likes. I must say this, but I even tell them what ingredients to put exactly on my drink.

As a rum lover and a lover of exotic sweet drinks, I created a list of delicious cocktails made with rum that are wonderful for that special night. So grab a pen and a paper and take note of these fabulous rum cocktail ideas for New Year's Eve.

ORANGE-RUM COCKTAIL:

Freeze fresh cranberries to float in the drink for a festive garnish. Use any orange-flavored liqueur.

Ingredients:

6 cups fresh orange juice (about 12 oranges)

1/2 cup Grand Marnier (orange-flavored liqueur)

1/2 cup white rum

3/4 cup orange sections

Preparation:

Combine first 3 ingredients in a pitcher; chill. Add orange sections just before serving.

Planter's punch is a traditional drink of welcome throughout the Caribbean. The basic recipe calls for equal parts orange and pineapple juice, guava nectar, and rum. But everyone has strong opinions about the particular flavorings and garnishes. For the best results, use fresh orange and lime juice.

1 oz Malibu® coconut rum

3 oz pineapple juice

1 oz orange juice

1 dash grenadine syrup
