Nokia, the world leader in mobile devices has finally made the final word about their newly launched Mini Booklet 3G. This mini laptop is targeted at the emerging market of netbooks and has all the qualities that a great netbook should have.
This booklet will be launched in Europe to start with and will be launched in the Indian markets only after Nokia studies the market response in Europe. Among the highlights is the inbuilt 3G modem will be connected to the network by a sim-slot, the 12-hour battery back-up, the light weight of apprx. 1.25 kg and the absence of fan-based cooling. Although, the last point about the absence of a fan, may not be so welcome in the hotter countries like India, this is something which nokia may have to consider in the long run.
The specifications of this mini laptop are decent enough for daily usage. This is powered by an Intel Atom processor which has access to 1 GB DDR RAM. The hard disk is 120 GB and the screen is 10.1 inch across and is HD compliant. The design is very simplistic, with a light and sturdy Aluminum Chassis holding it together. The outer and inner lines are straight and classy looking, which makes the entire laptop look very modern. The laptop comes with inbuilt GPS and a 1.3 mp camera, both of which are very reminiscent of the Nokia mobile devices.
Windows 7, the being offered as the standard OS and this book will be priced at 575 Euro, which comes out to be around Rs.39000. If this product turns out to be successful, it will be the start of a new product line from a trusted brand.
