Google Adsense is an advertising concept created by Google which can help webmasters earn money by monetizing their website but do you know how the Google Adsense progam works?

Google is very generous in creating an advertising concept called AdSense where Google shares the revenue it generates from pay per click advertisers with website owners who allow Google to display Adsense ads. Advertisers will pay Google the amount they bid when their advertisement is clicked on by visitors to the website displaying their advertisements. And Google will pay the webmaster a percentage of the revenue. This is the basic concept of the Google Adsense program.

AdSense is therefore another earning avenue for website owners who allow Google to display advertisements on their websites. These advertisements are either text advertisements or image based advertisements. Of course, the website owners need to enroll in the AdSense program through Google’s website (https://http://www.google.com/AdSense).

Google AdSense program requires website owners to include a piece of code (a programming script) on their website. Webmasters can add this piece of code anywhere in the html code of their website depending on where they want to position the advertisements (however, there are certain rules that they must follow while pasting this scripting code).

This piece of code is what determines the structure of advertisements and their content (and this is what helps Google in floating the advertisements on their website). When people visit their website, they are able to see these advertisements. Earnings are based on how many Google Ads are displayed on the website and also based on how many times visitors to the website actually click on one of those advertisements. The Google AdSense system calculates webmasters’ revenue on per-click (CPC) and per-thousand-Ads-displayed (CPM) basis. The latter is also known as impressions.

For those who want to advertise their products and services through the Google AdSense system, they only need to sign up through the Google Adwords program and letting Google know how much they want to spend towards advertising through Google AdSense. These businesses can specify the limit and Google AdSense system will serve their advertisements accordingly.

Anybody with a website or blog can benefit from the Google Adsense program and monetize their website or blog and earn money through Google Adsense.
