Your brain has the capability of producing new brain cells that help your concentration, and boost your memory. Here are some things that have helped me to get where I am today.

I suffered from epileptic seizures at the age of 14 having about 4 grand mal seizures a day. I went from being extremely smart to dumb. Having an IQ of a 2 year old at the age of 14. My brain would not function properly. I could not process information quickly at all. I forgot how to multiply and identify such things as pots, pans, chairs, tables, etc. I also forgot my friends names. The doctors said I would never go to college and would not graduate from high school. Well, God has the last say so. I have graduated with my Bachelors and a Masters Degree. This was extremely hard, but activating my faith and hard work, I made it!

Step 1

First we will start with your diet. You have to replenish your brain with the proper nutrients that will boost memory such as salmon, fish, spinach, blueberries, nuts, yogurt, raisins, whole grain foods, and omega-3' s. When I went to the grocery store I purchased things that had these things in them or bought each food item seperately. You can be very creative. I got blueberry muffins, waffles, bagels, cereal, cream cheese, blueberry juice, and just plain blueberries. With the spinach I would make a salad or make a spinach pizza with whole grain pizza dough bread. When you grocery shop just get creative, that makes it fun and not boring.

Step 2

Exercise, this increases the oxygen flow to your brain. Mental sharpness which includes problem solving, focusing, and making plans is said to happen because of the oxygen flowing to your brain. Exercise increases your neurons in your body to relieve stress . It also helps to prevent dementia.

Step 3

Do challenging things that make your brain work like play chess or scrabble. If you have really bad brain damage and playing chess or scrabble is too hard, read a lot of books. I read many books and the words I did not know I looked them up in the dictionary. Also write in a journal whatever you think is worth writing like your dreams, desires, goals, wants, and needs.

How you feel for the day, I did that all the time. Use the opposite hand to brush teeth , etc. This helps your brain to think quicker as well . All of these things I did but they were frustrating because my brain would only think so far but over time it produced new brain cells and I am doing so many things now. People consider me smart but I know what it took for me to get where I am today I still feel like I have a long way to go.

Step 4

Here are a few brain exercises to do every morning, studies have shown proven to work. Pick 3 words and try to say them backwards quickly. The second exercise is called doodling. You take both hands, get two pens one in each hand. Start with making the same motion but going in opposite direction, as you are drawing both hands should complete one shape. Start out and make a small square, then a circle, next heart , etc. To see a difference you have to do this every day or very frequently.

Tips: In order to get the best results you have to do this consistently.

Warnings: If you are currently still having health problems that hinder your brain focus first on that health problem then once you have taken care of that; focus on healing the brain.
