Natural and Home Remedies for Urinary Tract Infection

Here are some natural remedies for Urinary Tract Infection.

Even though  Urinary Tract Infection is a general problem, it is more common amongst women than men. It is a very painful problem. It can be prevented if detected in the earlier stages itself.

Urine contains a variety of fluids, salts and waste products. When bacteria get into the bladder and multiply the urine it causes a urinary tract infection.

Causes

  1. Generally the bacteria in the rectum enter the urethra due to improper cleaning.
  2. Suppressing the urge to urinate leads to severe urinary tract infection.
  3. Using tight underwear creates an ideal environment for undesirable bacteria to breed.
  4. An infection in the kidneys may cause this.

Symptoms

  1. Severe pain in the abdominal region near the bladder.
  2. Severe pain and burns in the urinary tract.

Natural remedies

  1. In addition to drinking of 3 to 4 liters water, drink as much cranberry juice as you can which is most simple natural remedy that can prevent as well as heal this problem.
  2. Apply a hot water bottle on your abdomen to ease the abdominal pain.
  3. Consume the tincture mixture of herbs like buchu, uva ursi and juniper berries that can act as antiseptic as well as clean kidneys and bladder.
  4. Avoid bladder irritant foods like citrus, tomatoes, caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, chocolates and spicy food.
  5. Consume more vitamin C. This increases the acidity level of urine which thereby helps to reduce the bacteria present in the urinary tract.
  6. Do not suppress the urge to urinate.
  7. Wash your genital area before and after intercourse.
  8. For a quick recovery consume a glass of water by adding the mixture of two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and one teaspoon of honey.
  9. Add more fruits and vegetables which contain sulphur like spinach, almonds, Rhubarb etc.
  10. Drink a glass of water by adding the mixture of one teaspoon olive oil and one teaspoon garlic juice. Take this thrice a day, before meals.
  11. Pure garlic juice is very efficient in killing the bacteria responsible for bladder infection. So take a teaspoon of garlic juice daily until you get the relief.
  12. There are many antiseptic as well as diuretic herbs. So take these herbs like Fleabane, wild alum root, Smartweed, Golden Seal, Myrrh, Elecampane etc.
  13. Apply Comfrey leaf poultice over the bladder for relieving bladder pain and painful urination.
  14. Consume the tea made with Hydrangea root, but don’t make it to boil too much time.
