Retin-A
Much like Hydroquinone, Retin-A is another highly effective product used to correct uneven skin tone. Retin-A is only available through a prescription because if used too often, can cause excessive dryness and extremely sensitive skin that is susceptible to the sun.
Microdermabrasion
For people with a severe case of uneven skin tone, your doctor may recommend a more intense treatment called microdermabrasion. During microdermabrasion, small rough grains are used to buff off the top layer of skin. The skin then acts fast to replace all of the skin cells with new evenly pigmented cells. While microdermabrasion is a pain free procedure, minor side effects may include slight swelling and redness.
Diet
A major cause of uneven skin tone is a common problem known as cellulite. Cellulite is usually found in various fatty places on the body such as the stomach and thighs. By getting rid of cellulite, you may see a improvement in the look of your skin.
To reduce cellulite, you must make diet and exercise a regular part of your lifestyle. Your diet should be high in vitamin C and protein. Toning the body will also help to fight off cellulite and help increase the elasticity in the skin tone. For quicker cellulite treatments, you can try steam or mud baths as well as massage therapy. The results typically last about 2 weeks.
