It can be hard to keep up with the daily chores when you are working a full time job while taking care of kids and keeping your spouse happy at the same time. Below I have listed tips on how to get organized. You have to start somewhere right? Here's how you do it.

Go through your house, room by room, and collect trash. Grab a garage bag and toss out any outdated coupons, flyer's, calenders, newspapers, magazines and catalogs. Shred paid utility bills and other statements not needed for tax purposes. Fill bags or boxes with unwanted clothing to donate.

Set a timer for 15 minutes and see how much you can get done in that time period. You'll be amazed at what you can get done in those mini decluttering sessions. Seeing each project through gives you more and more confidence for the next one.

A big reason why clutter accumulates is because items don't have a home. A good home for a frequently used item is one that makes it easy to retrieve and return. Organize your things in drawers, cabinets, or the garage.

Let go of unwanted items. If you had only 10 minutes to evacuate your home, what would you grab? Make a decision to surround yourself with only important items and let go of the rest. Have a garage sale or donate unwanted items.

You can't hide all the clutter but you can contain it. Look at where it collects and set up attractive ways to deal with it. Discount stores have everything from patterned folders for storing bills to wicker, fabric, and leather boxes to match your decor.

It's easier to keep up then to catch up. Establish a daily routine and go through the house and keep up with what needs to be done. Sort through off-season clothing and get rid of what you don't wear. Clean out filing cabinets at the end of the year.
