Many people that get an ingrown hair see them as just a minor irritation, but if left alone they can become painful and infected over time. The best way to prevent this from happening is by removing them. If you are dealing with an ingrown hair I suggest you remove it from your skin as soon as possible.

The first thing to do is exfoliate the area where the ingrown hair is present. This will remove any dead skin, oils, and dirt that could be trapping the hair. Sometimes people begin exfoliating there skin and after just a few rubs, the ingrown hair comes right out. You can purchase a good exfoliating cream at many stores like Walmart, Walgreens, or Rite Aid. Unfortunatley if it doesnt come out, keep exfoliating the area once a day for a good 7 days.

Ingornw hairs are just like pimples. In this case you should add a dab of acne medication to the hair. Doing this will help reduce most swelling around the hair. It may even remove the hair if combined with the daily exfoliating. Acne creams are also easily found at many general good stores.

If your hair is still there after a good week of applying acne cream and exfoliating, its time to remove it on your own. To start, apply a warm towel to the area for a few minutes allowing your skin to soften. Now grab a pair of strelie tweezers and begin gently pulling the hair out of your skin. Dont pull on it to quick or you may break the hair leaving part of it under your skin. After its out, wash the area to prevent infection. Washing it is as simple as using soap and hot water. Now place a band aid over it and you should be ingrown hair and infection free. Try and keep it clean to prevent getting one in the future.
