Having stinky feet can be an unpleasant thing not only for you, but for those around you who have to endure those smelly walkers. Stinky feet can be embarrassing, irritating, and frustrating due to the trouble of alleviating such a condition. Here are some ways to easily get rid of stinky feet that should have you smelling fresh and clean.

Keep fresh socks on hand at all times to alleviate. Feet tend to get stinky when socks become wet, dirty, or even over worn. A great way to prevent smelly feet is to change your socks often. Depending on how stinky your feet are, you may want to change your socks at least 3 times a day. Socks also make feet sweat so opt for lightweight cotton socks to keep feet breathable and open to as much air as possible. If you can’t help but to wear heavy socks like for work or such, opt for cotton socks that will help your feet stay fresh. You may need to use other remedies with this one, but keeping feet fresh and clean will definitely help make them less stinky.

Use baking soda to keep stinky feet fresh. Sprinkle a few dashes of baking soda into shoes and socks before putting them on. Baking soda helps to eliminate odors and will keep feet fresh preventing stinkiness. Have a small box of baking soda on hand to sprinkle into socks and shoes a few times a day. If this is not feasible, you can also use baby powder that contains baking soda. Most stores carry a trial size version of baby powder that fits neatly and discreetly into a purse, an office desk, a lunch box, or anywhere you go. You can even opt for baby powder that's made with cornstarch (which most are) since it has almost the same affect as baking soda.

Soak feet in a foot bath full of white vinegar. After getting home from a long day, foot smell can be at it’s worst. Remove your stinky shoes and sock and immediately submerse your smelly toes into a foot bath mixed with 3/4 parts water and 1/4 parts white vinegar. White vinegar has the same affect as baking soda in that it can get rid of odors and sanitize smelly areas. You can even pour a cup of white vinegar into a tub filled a foot full of water. Swish stinky feet around in the vinegar mix, rinse with plain water, pat dry, and sprinkle feet with baby powder. Then put on a fresh pair of lightweight cotton socks. This should help eliminate the smell of stinky tootsies.

Try limiting the garlic, onion, and peppers in your diet. Sometimes, the things you eat can give off body odor, this includes stinky feet. Strong acidic foods and seasonings such as garlic, onions, and peppers can mix with your digestive system and bring smells out of your skin and pores. Have you ever smelled someone who ate a lot of garlic? Their skin literally smells of the garlic. Eat more sweet, but good foods such as fruits, light vegetables (corn, cucumbers, and carrots), and whole wheat grains. This will help to combat the smelly feet condition. It’s not to say you can’t have garlic, onions, or peppers in your diet, but eating them in moderation can help to eliminate the foot odor you give off.

Use Vicks Vapor Rub for stinky feet. This may sound strange, but it really does work...rub a thin layer of Vicks Vapor Rub on the bottoms of smelly feet after washing them in the bathtub. When you are finished, put on a pair of fresh cotton socks. The stinky smell from feet will be completely eliminated due to the strong smell of eucalyptus. The eucalyptus has a soothing affect to feet as well as keeping them smelling fresh. Be sure to rub the Vicks Vapor Rub between toes to combat all over smells on feet. What’s nice about Vicks Vapor Rub is that you can purchase a small container of it to carry around with you when needed.

Rub underarm deodorant on stinky feet. Sounds funny, but underarm deodorant really works to combat smelly feet. Just think, if it works to prevent odors underarms, then why would it not work to keep feet fresh? To freshen up stinky feet, simply rub a thin layer of underarm deodorant on the pads of feet and in between toes. Choose a deodorant with a nice smell to help keep feet scented while in socks. You can also rub a thin layer of underarm deodorant over the tops of feet and toes to keep them extra fresh and prevent smelling. Try not to use too much, however, in case you have sensitive feet. Be sure to use the deodorant on newly cleansed feet for the best affect. Then put on a pair of lightweight cotton socks and you’re set!
