Nothing is ever quite as painful as getting over a recent relationship. Especially if its your first time trying to get over your first true love. I have some helpful tips that are sure to help you get over it.

Falling in love is easy but trying to fall out of love isn't. If your going through a hard time because you and your first love split apart, it isn't going to be easy to get over it. Your first love is the one who thought you what love really was. They are the ones you thought you would spend the rest of your life with. Letting go of all the memories you and you ex made can be tough, but with time and some help you will get over it and be able to fall in love again.

The first thing you want to do is be sure to cut of all communication with your ex. It sounds harsh but it is what needs to be done if you really want to move on and get over them. Deleting and blocking them from any friends lists you have on social networking sites is a good start. You should also get a number change to be sure they have no way to get ahold of you. If you don't, sooner or later they will most likely drop in a call or quick message. This will make it even harder to get over them.

Be sure to never hook back up with an ex you want to get over. Ideally you two will start the relationship over happy, but in just a short amount of time you two will get back to the same stage you were at just before you two broke up. This isn't a healthy choice. You and your ex broke up for a reason so trying to make it work is pretty much out of the picture. If you are really considering giving it a second chance, I want you to think to yourself of all the bad things that happened. This will help you realize that you can do way better than you had done previously. Also remember that they are plenty of fish in the sea and there is one special one out there for you waiting to be struck with your love.

Don't try to get through this alone. Getting over an ex is extremely tough so friends and family are very important at this time. They are the ones that will be there to cheer you up when your sad. Also try to get out more to do something fun rather than moping around your home. This is what will help you out on forgetting about the whole situation faster. Be sure to avoid any friends you made through your ex. If you don't you will most likely run into your ex when your with them or even worse, they may start pressuring you to give the relationship another chance.

Last of all, remember it is ok to cry. Crying is a good way to pour all of your emotions out till they aren't there anymore. You don't want to hold your emotions inside for to long or else you will prolong the healing process. Crying about it will actually make you feel much better. The best thing to do after taking these tips to heart is to just relax, enjoy life, and give it some time.
