Use Effective Eye Contact for Business Presentations
Learn how to use good eye contact for business purposes.
Are you someone who makes or has plans to make business presentations? How good are you at looking at others while doing presentations or job interviews? Would you say you are good or bad at it? In order to have effective interactions and presentations, it is essential for you to master the technique of using eye contact. By reading this article, you will learn how to use eye contact in business presentations.
One of the things that you have to do to be effective at making eye contact is to focus on your angle. It is important to basically look straight into another person’s eyes.
Another important thing that you have to do in regard to making eye contact is to focus on how much you do it. It is important to frequently look into the eyes of your audience or someone who is interviewing you; however, it is recommended that you avoid doing it every second in order to avoid making other people uncomfortable. It is a good idea to make eye contact with someone for a few seconds, then look away for a second, then look into the other person’s eyes for a few seconds again.
In addition to focusing on repetitions and frequency when looking into someone else’s eyes, it is imperative for you to focus on how you look at him or her. One good way you can do this is to make sure you make eye contact that convinces the other person that you are trustworthy. You can do this by displaying sincerity in your eyes as well as your voice.
Another way you should focus on how you look into another person’s eyes is to demonstrate that you are comfortable and not mad. It is a good idea to be relaxed and display a genuine smile while making eye contact.
It is important that you are on top of your game when you give business presentations or conduct meetings on the job. In order to avoid making any member of the audience feel like he or she is being singled out, you should constantly shift your eyes from one person in your audience to the next. If you are showing slides, take turns looking at your slides and making solid eye contact with everyone in the audience.
Follow the instruction you have received to effectively make eye contact in order to have successful business presentations and job interviews!
