Blood examination could provide important information for diagnosis and treatment of many diseases

Blood examination could provide important information for diagnosis and treatment of many diseases. This is one of the major reasons why blood is needed to be tested. There are  great varieties of blood testing or blood examination conducted in different fields particularly in medicine.

In chemical laboratory, blood testing is use  in many purposes such as in monitoring in the toxicological studies involving identification of drugs of abuse and many others.

In an immunology laboratory, blood testing is very much useful in determining infection of diseases such as hepatitis and other diseases, blood testing is also use for autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. A blood test for endocrine abnormalities is also possible.

In microbiology laboratory, blood testing are also performed such as in culturing of blood for infective agents.

In a blood bank or immunohematology laboratory, blood typing and anti-body determination are very much needed. This is important in order to determine the compatibility of the donor and the recipient with regards to transfusion.

Histocompatibility locus antigen testing in the blood is also done for organ transplantation.

In the hematological studies, blood testing could also be used to perform complete blood count or CBC of the number of the red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets per unit volume in the blood.

There’s a lot more of blood testing being conducted in different medical fields. Every test are important according to their different purposes. It generally provides information abouts an individuals characteristics and condition.
