Reviewing El Fenix Mexican Restaurant in Dallas, Texas

El Fenix Mexican restaurant is a wonderful place where the food tastes just like it would be south of the border with a little Tex-Mex flavor to it, and the restaurant looks like a big warehouse from the outside but it is very colorful and happy go lucky atmosphere in the inside. The restaurant is located at 1601 McKinney at the corner with Fields and the hours of operations are Sunday through Tuesday from 11:00 A.M to 9:00 P.M, and Wednesday through Saturday from 11:00 A.M to 10:00 P.M.

For their drink menu you can enjoy one of their margaritas like the original margarita on the rocks or a frozen one which comes with a variety of flavors such as raspberry, strawberry, peach or melon. Or go with one of El Fenix's signature drinks like the Acapulco which includes vodka, blue Curacao, fruit juices and cream or the coco loco which is made with rum, Brandy and coconut milk.

For their appetizers you can order the assorted botana platter which includes chicken sour cream nachos, one beef fajita quesadilla, one chicken and one beef flauta and chile con queso for $10.79, or go with the skillet of Chihuahua cheese fundido with a choice of chorizo, bacon, or green chilies for $8.79.

For their main entrées go with one of the Mexican combinations such as the Miguelito plate which includes one cheese enchilada, one meat taco, fried beans and Spanish rice for $8.39, or the El Fenix dinner which has guacamole, one meat and one cheese taco, one cheese enchilada and one two tamales with chile con carne for $13.89, or even the Maximilian Delight which includes one beef enchilada, one sour cream chicken enchilada, one puffed crispy beef taco with guacamole for $11.49.

While for their El Fenix specialties go for the chimichangas which are deep fried flour tortillas filled with your choice of beef, chicken or chile con queso for $9.49, or try the pollo alla parilla which is seasoned chicken breast char-broiled and served with spinach and beans for $11.19, or even the steak and enchiladas which is a beef tenderloin steak Mexican style and one cheese enchilada for $15.49.
