Swing Dancing in the Minneapolis/Twin Cities Area: Let’s Dance
Let’s Dance offers a variety of dance types from which to chose, including swing dance lessons. They offer an introductory package for $29.99, which includes two private dance lessons and one dance practice party with a group. With this package, you can chose 4 to 6 different dances, including swing. They also offer two basic packages (minor for 6 lessons and major for 8 lessons) where you can focus directly on swing dancing (or any other dance in which you’re interested). Group lessons, video review (watch yourself on tape as the instructor helps you work on your form), and dance parties are also available. Swing Dancing in the Minneapolis/Twin Cities Area: Four Seasons Dance Studio
Four Seasons Dance studio offers both private and group swing dance lessons with two different levels. Their level 1 swing dance lessons are an hour long and focus on East Coast Swing. East Coast Swing is perfect for beginners to learn as it’s much easier, slower, and less complicated than the traditional swing dancing you see on television. Level 1 classes start at the beginging of each month (usually the first Wednesday).
The level 2 swing dance group lessons are also an hour long and focus on all three forms of swing dancing (East Coast/Jitterbug, West Coast, and Lindy Hop).
Pre-registration is not necessary for group dance lessons. Just show up at the door and pay your fee!

Swing Dancing in the Minneapolis/Twin Cities Area: Dancer’s Studio
If you’re not sure if you’re going to enjoy swing dancing, or taking dance lessons in general, Dancer’s Studio might be a spot worth checking out. They offer a free dance lesson to all “newbies” – all you need to do is call the studio to schedule a lesson. If you’re more interested in group lessons, they also host a “Newcomber Night” once per month. One thing to note-if you go to Newcomber Night, you might not get a lot of swing dancing in – style of dance depends on instructor, but it’s still a great way to get started. Dancer’s Studio offers group classes every day, dance parties every Friday, hosts competitions, and other fun events like New Years Eve parties! Check their online calendar for the group dance class and dance party schedule. Prices for group classes are $15/class for non members. If you become a member, group classes are free. Swing Dancing in the Minneapolis/Twin Cities Area: TC Swing
TC Swing is the premier swing dance club in the Twin Cities Metro Area and they also offer swing dance lessons for all levels. If you’re just beginning, you’ll want to check out their First Thursday event. This event begins at 6:30pm with lessons in East Coast Swing, moves to Lindy Hop at 8pm, and wraps up at 9:30pm. Prices are $9/person and $7 for students and members. If you’re interested in more one-on-one lessons, TC Swing offers a 6-week progressive Foundation-Building swing dance classes on Mondays at the Falcon Heights Elementary School for only $46. TC Swing also offers dance sequence classes and workshops – check their calendar for details.
