It can be a very confusing topic to a skier about which country to go to ski (and also have an enjoyable holiday). In this article are listed the main countries, their ratings and generally how good they are for the sport.

It can be a very confusing topic to a skier about which country to go to ski (and also have an enjoyable holiday). These are the main countries and their ratings:

France

Piste quality: 8/10
Snow quantity: 7/10
Weather: 7/10
Number of pistes per mountain: 8/10
Designed for: fun and easy skiing.

The French Alps are very suitable for beginners, with many easy and enjoyable pistes. Go to France to have a relaxing, easy ski holiday, but if you are an expert skier looking for a challenge you might be disappointed.

Italy

Piste quality: 9/10
Snow quantity: 8/10
Weather: 8/10
Number of pistes per mountain: 9/10
Designed for: mild skiing.

The Italian slopes provide a fun experience with that skiers edge, and is more appropriate for experienced skiers. And the weather never disappoints, with the mountains always full of snow.

Austria

Number of pistes per mountain: 10/10
Designed for: mild family skiing.

The Austria slops make for an enjoyable family skiing holiday, perhaps for the more advanced family. The café's and restaurants are great, and are definitely an added bonus to the already near pefect mountains.

USA

Weather: 10/10
Number of pistes per mountain: 10/10
Designed for: hardcore skiing.

The USA really is the place to go for hardcore skiers, where double black diamond pistes sit there ready to be skied down. The weather can be quite harsh, and the mountains are usually only suitable for advanced skiers, although if the correct mountain is chosen it can be very pleasant and easy for beginners.
