About Sidney Crosby career from junior to nhl.

Sidney Patrick Crosby was born August 1987 in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Through his junior year, he played for the Rimouski Oceanic of the  QMJHL (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League).  In his first QMJLH game he tallied eight points, due to this, his teammates gave him the nickname Darryl (reference Darryl Sittler).

Crosby had a chance to play for Hamilton franchise of the World Hockey Association (WHA), but he turned down the offer (3 years $7.5 million) because he thinks he is not ready for it and he would like to stay in junior league.

He palyed for team Canada internationally. He played in 2004, 2005 and 2006 World Junior Championships. During this time he was only 16 year old. Sidney Crosby was the alternative captain for team Canada for a short period of time in 2006. He was named the top forward and the youngest player in history to win a World Junior Championships title.

In 2005 before he even get drafted he was already at the top of the entry. He drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins on July 30, 2005. During his first year in the NHL, he lives with Mario Lemieux and played alongside with him. When Lemieux retired, Crosby was named Alternative Captain and 2007 he was named Captain of the team (youngest NHL Captain).

During his first year in thre NHL, he made many records. He became the youngest to scored 100 points and 100 penalty minutes. He was the seventh on the scoring race in assists. Also he was the second rookies, behind Alexander Ovechkin for yhe Calder Memorial Trophy.

At the NHL's annual awards show in June 2007, Crosby completed a rare off-season hat trick, winning the Hart Memorial Tropht and the Lester P Pearson Trophy in addition to his previously awarded Art Ross Trophy. He became the youngest player in NHL history to win the Lester B. Pearson, and only the second youngest player ever to win the Hart (after Gretzky). Crosby also became the youngest player ever to be named to the NHL's First All-Star Team. Crosby signed a five-year $43.5 million dollar contract extension with the Penguins on July 10, 2007, ensuring he will stay with the Penguins through the 2012–13 season.
