Review of QB's All Natural Crispy Treat Filled with Ice Cream
Are QB's All Natural Crispy Treat Filled with Ice Cream any good? Find out in this review
My review also on Associated Content. I own all rights.
Recently, while browsing for some frozen snacks at a local Stop & Shop, I came across an interesting frozen treat called QB's, All Natural Crispy Treat Filled With Ice Cream. Immediately after spotting interesting photo on the box, I wanted to try them.
My $3.69 purchase was more of a greedy purchase. I liked what I saw, I saw what I 'thought' I would like, so I bought it.
QB's came in a standard package, with a photo of what one should expect out of QB's. Basically, a delicious looking rice crispy treat square with a perfected slice out of the side, displaying a chocolate ice cream middle.
I mean seriously, does it get any sweeter than that? Why hadn't I thought of this first!?
At any rate, the QB's looked delicious on the box, even though the box itself had a generic, cheap look to it. Most 'all natural' healthy foods come in odd generic like packages though.
When I got home, I actually opened the box before even putting the rest of my grocery's away. I wanted to try them immediately. What can I say, curiosity sparks greed.
Inside of the box are 4 neatly individually wrapped QB's. They looked similar to the boxes cover, only the rice crisps were chopped up a bit more than they would be in a normal rice crispy treat. After peeling off the package, immediately the crispy rice began to fall apart.
I was not expecting QB's to taste bad though, but they did. The rice crispy treat has a very sweet taste to it, and the crisped rice was stale and had a soggy old consistency to it.
I ended up rubbing most of the rice crisps off in order to taste the chocolate ice cream hidden within its depths.
The first thing I noted was that there is not as much ice cream in the middle as the box leads you to believe there is. The middle is a very small and thin rectangular blob of ice cream, that has a creamy Italian chocolate ice flavoring to it.
The ice cream is good, but very, very limited, and surely does not make up for the horrendous crispy rice shell.
Overall:
QB's were a waste of money. They should pull these from shelves and sell just the ice cream that they put in the middle of the QB's
