Review of Cuppers Choice, Caramel Apple Coffee
Is Cupper's Choice, Caramel Apple Coffee Worth Trying? Find Out In This Review
Not a morning passes me by where I don't have a cup of coffee. My day is simply ruined without my daily morning caffeine buzz.
With fall months upon us, gobs and gobs of coffee companies release limited edition flavors of coffee. Starbucks in particular sells us their pumpkin pie flavored coffee, which I recommend you avoid.
While shopping at a local Homegoods store I came across a small shelf of limited edition coffee flavors that were suiting for the fall season. Being the coffee lover I am, I usually will pick up a limited edition flavor just to give it a try.
Usually though I never find anything worth mentioning; or I find something so ghastly that I have to forewarn consumers about it.
Cupper's Choice Caramel Apple is one of those coffee's.
It comes in a spiced red aluminum package, with a bland, (yet olde time traditional) home style sticker on it with the Cupper's Choice logo on it. Naturally the flavor Caramel Apple is clearly labeled at the very bottom of the sticker.
Apples are one of my favorite fruits, and caramel apples are one of my favorite fall time treats. I figured why not? It was different, it was unique, and perhaps it would be good. If not, it was only a $4.00 loss.
My Use:
At home, I yanked open the package and inhaled the aroma of the caramel apple coffee. It definitely had a spicy apple fragrance to it that seemed like cinnamon apple, mixed with a creamy caramel scent. It smelled good, I'll give it that.
While brewing the coffee also smelled good. A sweet apple fragrance filled the kitchen, and I could not wait to give it a try.
Once finished I poured myself a cup of the coffee, added my usual amount of cream and sugar, and took my first sip of Cupper's Choice Caramel Apple Coffee.
And...
GAG!
It tasted as if I just sipped hot water that someone just rung out of a dirty dish rag. Granted the apple flavoring was noted, the rest of the coffee had this raunchy aftertaste that was nothing like what I was expecting.
I thought the coffee would have a creamy caramel aftertaste, with a little zing of apple; instead the apple flavor was followed by a dirty flavor that I couldn't stomach.
I ended up pouring the entire pot down the drain, and throwing out the rest of the coffee.
So the moral of the story you may be wondering?
