Pine cones are my favorite fall nature find, and they have many uses. They can be used in all sorts of craft projects, and they can even be very useful around the home. I love there versatile nature, and their earthy look and texture. Here are three fall inspired pinecone crafts for decorating your home.

An elegant and intriguing craft project that can be created using nature items is a pinecone framed mirror. For this project you will need a mirror of any shape you like. You will also need many pinecones, a paintbrush, metallic paint, a hot glue gun, glue, and a piece of heavy cardboard or wood that is bigger than the mirror.

Start by gluing the mirror to the wood; you may use various methods and types of glue depending on what size mirror you are using. Next paint the edges of the pine cones with the metallic paint, and allow them to dry. Before you glue your pinecones in a frame around the mirror think about what you would like to do. You can make an alternating sized pine cone frame, or you can make a double row of pinecones if you like. Be creative, and when everything is dry hang your mirror somewhere that it will capture the light.

Making a pinecone photo holder is another great pine cone project that you can use around your home. For this project you will need a medium sized pine cone, a stick, acorns, a hot glue gun, a small piece of cardboard, and other nature items. Start by sitting a photo into one of the notches of the pine cone. Next set the pine cone on a table to see which way it needs to sit to make the photo stand up straight. You can use the stick to prop the pine cone up if you like. Glue the pinecone and stick to the cardboard; add the acorns, smaller pines, and other natural treasures to the piece to complete. This handmade item is a great way to celebrates your memories.

Pine cone curtain cinchers are also another fall inspired way to create home décor. To create this simple piece you will need some ribbon, pinecones, and glue. Now tie the ribbon in a bow on both sides, and make sure it is long enough to tie the curtain back. Glue the pinecones on to the ribbon and affix the center of the ribbon to the wall. Tie the ribbon around your curtain for a useful and festive look. Pinecones are a natural treasure that can be found right around your home; go collect them and create these great home décor crafts that are perfect for fall.
